Does
your tranny feel like it's dancing? Well, probably time to change
your motor mount. Below are some pics of my old mount and new
one. Pretty obvious which one is which. In the A4 and the M6,
it's a simple process. I used a new factory mount from GM. At
the dealership, it's $50 out the door. It can be found cheaper,
but I needed one right away to race on the next Sunday. GM is
now only selling the 1LE which uses higher durometer (sp?) rubber
to hopefully last longer. They no longer sell the stock part #.
Lift
the car, then support the tranny with the jack while you unbolt
the 4 bolts that hold up the crossmember. Remove the crossmember,
and undo the two bolts that attach the mount to the tranny. Installation
is the reverse of removal. Welcome back to a nice, positive shift
:).
